Power or Oxygen co Keep You and Your Family Healthy, Frank ShaUenberger, MO, HMO ISBN: Q781537085'27

Ozone therapy has been part of the medical community since the late 1880s. Even so, questions abound. We've tried to answer the most common.

What is Medical Ozone

Ozone (O3), is an energized form of oxygen that contains three atoms of oxygen rather than the two atoms we normally breathe.

It is one of the best healing agents, detoxifiers, and sterilizers when used in medicine.

Administering Ozone

There are several ways by which ozone can be delivered, although at Advanced Integrative Care, we primarily use autohemotherapy, aka, an IV.  The process involves drawing roughly 50-150 ml of blood, mixing it with medical grade triple oxygen, 03 (Ozone) gas,  placing it into a sterile IV bag, and returning it back to the patient intravenously. It takes approximately 30 minutes and can be used in combination with other IV therapies such as:

  • BioPhotonic (UVBI) treatment

  • Chelation Therapy

  • Nutritional Therapy

  • Myers Cocktail

Ozonated Saline

Ozonated saline is ozone therapy without the blood draw.  We simply infuse a saline solution with pure ozone and administer it directly through an IV drip.

Ozone Bagging

Bagging can be used for treating a non-healing wound, infection, trauma, or rash involving an arm or leg or a finger or toe. It is non-invasive whereby the affected area is wrapped into a sealed bag allowing ozone gas to be pumped onto the affected area and tissue. The treatment is administered over 30 minutes and used for

  • Diabetic ulcers

  • Nail and skin fungal infections

  • Athlete’s foot

  • Bacterial infections

  • Wound healing

Prolozone Therapy®

Also known as Ozone Joint Therapy (OJT). Considered a regenerative therapy, prolozone (comprised of ozone and anti-inflammatory medications, vitamins, and minerals) is injected into a painful degenerative or injured joint, the ozone and oxygen gases promote tissue regeneration.

A homeopathic/oxygen injection technique developed and pioneered by Dr. Shallenberger, it helps all forms of musculoskeletal and joint pain including chronic neck and back pain, rotator cuff injuries, degenerative and arthritic hips and knees, degenerated discs, and shoulder and elbow pain.

Ear Insufflation

Another non-invasive method that safely blows ozone to the ear canal allowing it to penetrate the eustachian tubes and sinuses. Treatment is approximately 3-5 minutes is beneficial to:

  • Kill pathogens found within the ear canal and sinuses.

  • Improve overall circulation throughout the body.

  • Decrease sinus inflammation or infection.

  • Improve oxygen efficiency.

  • Reduce brain fog.

  • Provide relief from tinnitus, vertigo, and other related conditions.

Intestinal Insufflation

Ozone gas is administered directly into the rectum and large intestine using specialized medical supplies that deliver the Ozone easily and painlessly over several minutes. This treatment can be performed several times per week or as needed to treat an acute or chronic condition.

Conditions Treated with Ozone Therapy

Triple Oxygen (Ozone) Therapy can be used to treat the following acute and chronic conditions.

  • Heart and blood vessel diseases

  • Pulmonary diseases

  • Infectious· diseases

  • Auto-immune disorders

  • Cancer

  • Chronic Pain

  • Migraine Headaches

  • Neurological disorders

The Effects of Ozone on the Body
  • Increases active oxygen in the body

  • Cleans arteries and veins,

  • Improves peripheral circulation

  • Reduces inflammation Inactivates viruses, bacteria, yeast, fungus, and protozoans

  • Regulates the immune system

  • Purifies the blood and lymph

  • Normalizes hormone and enzyme production

  • Reduces pain, calms the nerves

  • Stops bleeding

  • Aid in the recovery from stroke damage

  • Improves brain function and memory

  • Oxidizes toxins, allowing for their excretion

  • Efficiently chelates heavy metals in combination with EDTA

  • Aids in the treatment of auto-immune diseases

  • Decreases allergic reactions

How Ozone Works

Inactivation of Bacteria, Viruses, Fungi, Yeast, and Protozoa

Ozone disrupts the integrity of the bacterial cell envelope through the oxidation of phospholipids and lipoproteins. In fungi, ozone inhibits cell growth at certain stages. With viruses, the ozone damages the viral capsid and disrupts the reproductive cycle by disrupting the virus-to-cell contact with peroxidation. The weak enzyme coatings on cells that make them vulnerable to invasion by viruses make them susceptible to oxidation and elimination from the body, which then replaces them with healthy cells.

Enhancement of Circulation*

In circulatory disease, a clumping of red blood cells hinders blood flow through the small capillaries and decreases oxygen absorption due to reduced surface carrying ability. Oxygenation of the tissues increases as the arterial partial pressure increases and viscosity decreases. Ozone also oxidizes the plaque in arteries, allowing the removal of the breakdown products, unclogging the blood vessels.

Stimulation of Oxygen Metabolism

Ozone causes an increase in the red blood cell glycolysis rate. This leads to the stimulation of 2,3- diphosphooglycerate (2,3-DPG) which leads to an increase in the amount of oxygen released to the tissues. There is a stimulation of the production of the enzymes which act as free radical scavengers and cell wall protectors: Glutathione peroxidase, Catalase, and Superoxide dismutase. Oxone activates the Krebs cycle by enhancing oxidative carboxylation of pyruvate, stimulating the production of ATP. Ozone also causes a significant reduction in NADH and helps to oxidize cytochrome C. Prostacyclin, a vasodilator, is also induced by ozone.

Formation of Peroxides

Ozone reacts with the unsaturated fatty acids of the lipid layer in cellular membranes, forming hydro peroxides. There is a synergistic effect with cellular-formed H202. Lipid peroxidation products include alkoxyl and peroxyl radicals, singlet oxygen, ozonides, carbonides, carbonyls, alkanes, and alkenes.

Dissolution of Malignant Tumors*

Ozone inhibits tumor metabolism, In addition, ozone oxidizes the outer lipid layer of m·alignant cells and destroys them through cell lysis. (break-down). Phagocytes produce H202 and hydroxy/ to kill bacteria and viruses. The generation of hydroxy/ by killer cells is critical to their cytotoxic capability. Ozone stimulates the conversion of L-arginine to citrulline, nitrite and nitrate by phagocytes, acting on tumors.
