The Amazing Health Benefits of Practicing Mindfulness

“Did I close the garage door? I need to make a grocery list. Don’t forget to schedule an oil change for the car. Did I forget to pay the Visa bill? Shoes! I need to buy shoes. What was that article about the shoe company saving rainforests? Dinner! What I am cooking for dinner? Not baked chicken, the kids hated it last time.” On some days and nights this is how my brain runs, like a scrolling marquis sign. I’m not alone, just about everyone has experienced racing thoughts, anxiety, and stress at one time or another in their lives. So how can you quiet your mind and put an end to these unnecessary ramblings? One excellent and scientifically proven way is through the practice of mindfulness.


Mindfulness meditation is a way for you to train your mind, allowing you to focus on the present moment without being distracted. The main idea behind mindfulness is to simply be present in the moment, while paying attention to your physical sensations, thoughts, and emotions right now without your mind wandering.
